West Limerick GWS Scada System.

West Limerick GWS Scada System.

West Limerick GWS are presently installing a new Scada System on all Bulk Meters on the Scheme. This will give instant flow data on the meters and can be viewed by the members when logged on to the website GIS section. Leaks can now be easily traced which will reduce costs on the Scheme. This is a very modern system which will alert the Scheme when flows exceed a certain threshold. An email and text will be sent to the user advising of imminent problems. This system will pay for itself over a number of years in reduced maintenance costs.

This new Scada system has been extended to the Granagh Scheme and is now common to all areas.

Further funding as made available under the MARWP and extra loggers and meters fitted.

These loggers allow the GWS to track leaks quickly and efficiently.

The data is read each morning on our PC and all historical data viewed.

The GWS have also invested in the installation of Pressure Reducing Valve’s (PRV’s) and are helping to reduce leaks on the older sections of main.
